The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has declared that they have found rather shocking results after an analysis was conducted by them in their laboratories.

It was revealed by them that high amounts of toxic ingredients were included within homeopathic teething products. At several times the amounts had greatly surpassed that of the amount that had been listed on the product’s label.

As a result the FDA has issued a warning to all consumers of the homeopathic products, stating that a toxic ingredient called belladonna was included.

The toxic substance greatly puts infants as well as adolescents in danger and the FDA has urged buyers to keep away from the products.

Still in Stores

Hyland, the manufacturing company for these teething tablets have not yet approved to recall back all of their products that include the toxic substance of belladonna.

Nonetheless, the FDA has urged those who currently possess any products from Hyland to dispose of it as soon as possible and to not purchase any of the company’s products at the moment.

The director for the Drug Evaluation and Research Center within the FDA, Janet Woodcock made her own remark on the matter. “The body’s response to belladonna in children under two years of age is unpredictable and puts them at unnecessary risk.”

Early and Fatal Symptoms

The FDA stated that consumers should immediately contact the medical authorities if their child has undergone a difficulty in breathing, seizures, problems urinating as well as constipation, a weakness within the muscles, and several more signs.

Woodcock advised to parents as well as caregivers to immediately stop continued use of these products and request from their health care professional what a safer suggestion would be.

Although it has been claimed that such homeopathic teething tablets relieve symptoms of teething amongst children through natural means, the FDA has not yet confirmed there are any factual health benefits from it.
