The Play

Miah, Biwi Aur Wagah focuses on the lost tradition of letter writing in the era of technology. Now, take a moment and think when was the last time you had written a letter to someone, just like people used to write in earlier days? Long time ago. Right? In case of the younger generation, it would probably be never. The feeling of getting a hand written letter from your loved one is irreplaceable, which in modern times has lost somewhere. The play is co-directed by Sheherzad Kaleem—an award winner and the co-director of the play.

Due to its popular demand, the Urdu language play is back! Last August on first day of the show, seeing the huge crowd and the love of people, the play aims to appreciate the hard work of the blue collar workers. Amna Khaishgi said this play is to recognize the blue collar workers contributions, which made the show such a success. Be it construction worker, a domestic help, waitress or a waiter, this show is for all of them.

All the blue collar workers, will be served as guest of honor and will be treated with lunch and refreshment by the food partners of the show, we will try to make this event memorable for the blue collar workers.

The cast and crew of the play interviewed restaurant waiters, security guards, and others through their mobile phone camera making small videos, asking them when was the last time they had written a letter to their loved ones, and the responses were heart touching as a part of their social media campaign.
